Conditions of Entry to the Irish Ceramic Awards 2017

1 Submissions must be original and of a high standard, both in presentation and content. The work should not have been previously exhibited and created within the last 2 years. Up to 3 works may be submitted.
2 Submission forms must be accompanied by photographs/CD (digital images) of the actual work with 2-3 images of each piece. Images may be sent by email to millcovegallery@gmail.com, once your form has been received. Email images must be no larger than 0.5mb. Up to 3 works may be submitted. There is one submission fee of €15, regardless of the number of pieces submitted, payable by cheque or postal order, to Mill Cove Gallery. 3 Forms must be completed and returned with images and fees to John Goode, Irish Ceramic Awards, Mill Cove Gallery, Castletownbere, County Cork on or before 14th July 2017. Submission forms may be down loaded from the web site and may be submitted online once your submission fee is paid.
4 Work must be presented ready for exhibition without any further work needed on it. If the work is a wall piece it must be corded and completely ready to hang.
6 Work must be priced to include the gallery commission of 50% (includes VAT & credit card charges). Please ensure the selling price is correct, as this cannot be changed once the catalogue goes to print. Payments for sales will be made 30 days after the sale has been completed.
7 Works chosen for exhibition will be selected from photographs or digital images submitted with the entry.
8 Selection will be made on merit by a panel of four judges. If the image(s) is (are) felt to be inadequate the judges may request viewing the actual work. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9 Selected work may be handed in to Mill Cove Gallery, Castletownbere on 26th to 29th July between 2pm and 5pm. Work will only be accepted on these days.
10 Selected work may be handed in to Mill Cove Gallery, 21 Main Street, Kenmare on 26th to 29th July between 2pm and 5pm. Work will only be accepted on these days.
11 Work may be sent by post/courier. Please note the artists are liable for all transport, duty and VAT costs or any other related costs. Please insure that your work is correctly packaged as we cannot accept any responsibility for work damaged in transit. Work must arrive between 26th to 29th July 2017.
12 The exhibition of selected work will open at Mill Cove Gallery, Kenmare, County Kerry on 6th August at 3pm. The exhibition will continue until 21st August. The awards will be presented at the opening of the exhibition.
13 By signing the entry form the Artist licenses Mill Cove Gallery to reproduce their work for publicity purposes in relation to the exhibition.

16 The utmost care will be taken of all work submitted but Mill Cove Gallery will not be responsible for any damage, loss of, or destruction to any work for any reason whatsoever. Any insurance should therefore be effected by the artist against all risks
17 The winning works will be acquired for the Mill Cove Collection. The 2017 Irish Ceramic Awards will include a presentation by Mill Cove Gallery and representation at the galleries in Kenmare, Castletownbere and Dublin.
18 The Outstanding Achievement Award in Irish Ceramics 2017 will be announced on or before the 15th July 2017. This is a juried selection for an artist who has made a significant contribution to Irish Ceramics during their career.
19 Further awards will be announced as submitted.
