Roxanne Fitzmaurice
Roxanne studied Fine Art at DIT and NCAD. She lives and works in Dublin and teaches art at Marino College.
Roxanne’s work is a statement about the wonderful landscape in which we live. This landscape is transitory, as are we as we pass through it. It is viewed from one time and one place, yet encompasses many interacting variables - weather, light, seasons and environment. The surfaces of Roxanne's paintings articulate the relentless energetic transitory force of nature. Each painting is a response to a time spent in a particular place, passing through or over in the case of the 'Coming Home' paintings. Sometimes the engagement in a place could be weeks or mere moments, but the ultimate goal is to capture the energy and tactility of place, where image dissolves into paint.
