Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Ruth Lockhart has been living and working in Ireland since 1990. After graduating in Fine Art at IADT, Dun Laoghaire she has been working as a professional painter since 2001. Her work has been shown at the Mill Cove Galleries, Douglas Hyde, Dublin, the Mermaid, Bray, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford, Garterlane, Waterford, Hallward Gallery, Dublin, Gerard Davis Gallery, Dublin, Central Bank, Dublin and many other arts centres and galleries nationwide.

Her paintings are about the elusive and ethereal, yet sometimes allow the viewer to catch a glimpse of something familiar, before it disappears again.
