ANGELA FEWER

Having qualified as an architect in 1968 from University College Dublin Angela worked in a variety of architectural practices in Ireland, Germany and New Zealand. In 1992 she returned to college receiving an Honours Degree from the Crawford College of Art Cork. Over the years she has taken part in many group exhibitions in public and private galleries, art centres and Art Festivals. including Oliver Sears Gallery Dublin , Sofineart Dublin, Sternview Gallery Cork, Lavit Gallery, Cork, Temple Bar Gallery Dublin,Blue House Gallery West Cork, Arts Council, Dublin, Garter Lane Waterford, Skibbereen Art Festival , Kinsale Arts Festival to name but a few. Recent exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the Lavit Gallery, Cork , “ The Constructed Sublime “ 2022, group shows at The Blue House Gallery Schull 2021- 2023 , and The Hamilton Gallery Sligo 2023, Drawings from the Crawford Art Gallery Collection 2022, The Winter Exhibition, Sternview Gallery 2021 , Rha Annual 2021. Her work has been selected for the International Bienale 2023 at the Ballinglen Museum for Contemporary Art, Ballycastle Co. Mayo.

Her work is in private and public collections including University Colleges Cork and Dublin, Cork Institute of Technology. A.I.B. Bank. Boyle Civic Collection. Ballinglen Museum of Contemporary Art, Cork Co. Council Drawing Collection, Crawford Gallery.

She has completed number of commissions including in 2019 a large triptych for the new building at 85 South Mall, Cork for Henry J. Lyons architects. Suite of Drawings for architect Ronnie Tallon, Computer Building, University College Dublin, 2004.

She has received many awards from the Arts Council, Gedenk Kunst Austria, EU Council for Peace, The American Institute for Foreign Studies, and others. She has taken part in residencies in Ireland and abroad including Israel, Bosnia and London., and was invited to the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Mayo as a fellow in 2015.
